Dear Sir/Madam,
The Mission of Japan to the European Union has the honour of inviting you to an evening lecture on haiku, a short form style of Japanese poetry.
Haiku has been an important tool for people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the EU, and the Mission is pleased to host the event in the context of the 50th anniversary of Japan-EU friendship this year.
The lecture will be given by H.E. Mr Herman Van Rompuy, Haiku Ambassador for Japan-EU Friendship, President Emeritus of the European Council and former Prime Minister of Belgium, and Ms Kazuko Nishimura, a published haiku poet and author from Japan.
The event will take place on Thursday 20th February from 17:30 to 20:00 at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to the EU, Mr Kazutoshi AIKAWA, Chemin des Silex, 2, 1170 Watermael-Boitsfort. Please find in attachment the programme for the details. The lectures will be followed by a reception.
